Yorktown Police say they initiated a traffic stop after observing a driver swerve over the double-yellow lines while traveling westbound on Route 202 (Crompond Road) on Monday, Sept. 23 around 12:30 a.m.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Kristin Kulage, 44, of White Plains, was operating the vehicle while in an intoxicated state, according to police.

Kulage was arrested and transported to the Yorktown Police Department, where a breathalyzer test gave a reading of .19, police say.

Kulage was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) and aggravated driving while intoxicated per se with no prior convictions, both unclassified misdemeanors.

Kulage was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, Oct. 3.
